Chassis and suspension design

For the last 12 months i have been researching and designing the various aspects of the chassis and suspension. There are a huge number of factors to consider when designing a car from scratch but after many design revisions i feel i have now produced the best solution to my design requirements.

The chassis itself is a tubular high tensile steel construction throughout, fully triangulated and optimized for good torsional/beaming stiffness whilst still being lightweight.

The suspension geometry at both the front and rear has been optimised for good camber control in roll and maintains good roll-centre position throughout all bump/rebound/roll conditions. The suspension itself comprises short/long arm double wishbones with pushrod actuated, inboard coilover shocks.

All my design work is modelled using the CAD program Solidworks.
