Manufacture and bodywork update
After realising the real amount of work involved in designing and manufacturing an entire car from scratch I've been speaking to a local CNC machining comapany who will be helping me out with the work! I would like to at least produce one of each of the all the items that go into building the car myself but now the majority of the labour intensive machining will be carried out by them. I will be getting the front hubs, wheel centres etc machined over the next few weeks.
One thing that has also been taking up a lot of my time recently is the bodywork for the car. After examining countless pictures of the mazda, nissan, jaguar, mercedes, toyota etc of this era I had a thought. Like myself, my brother is also an engineer but a more artistic one than me and between us we think we can put together our own bodywork design that wouldn't look at all out of place in a reunion of these sort of cars. I have the basic proportions and features laid out in CAD and I'm pretty happy with the results so far..

Ugh, I really appreciate your engineering expertise and general wealth of abundant resources/tools, but why not just purchase an extremely high quality scale model kit, and build it or at least use its body parts or other items, and then scale them up accordingly to produce your own? For something such as the body panels, this is the only true way for you to faithfully reproduce it with proper accuracy. If its not perfect, its noticable by loyal fans from a mile away, and INSTANTLY when they see it. Dont put so much time into the project just to have it ruined by something like this.
Im really not trying to be a pri**, but as a huge fan of the 787B and Group C cars in general, these look...... bad, to put it mildly. Really don't invoke the common essence of group C cars that we all love.
